The Director of People at Novel Energy Solutions is responsible for the overall human resource (HR) function and developing and executing people strategy to support the overall business plan and strategic direction of this small but rapidly expanding organization. The position requires strength in all HR functional areas, with an emphasis on recruiting, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and total compensation. As a member of the Executive Team, the Director provides strategic leadership by articulating People's needs and plans to the COO and Executive team. Instructions for applying:

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute a total people strategy—from construction crew to the C-Suite—for staffing and scaling for growth in new states across the country and internationally.
  • Develop plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business growth and operations objectives.
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the PLD function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation, and benefits internationally.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
  • Establish and implement PLD efforts that effectively communicate and support the company’s mission, strategic vision, and values. Proactively support the company culture throughout the organization.
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the Executive team and senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
  • Work with the company's Executive Team to establish a sound succession plan that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.

Our Ideal Candidate Has

  • A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university; MBA or MA/MS in human resources or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible HR experience, 3+ years of international HR experience, and at least 5 years of HR senior management experience.
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.
  • Strategic Agility.
  • Ability to process new information quickly, operate in a rapidly changing, fast-growth company.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Bonus Points

  • Experience with OSHA regulations and compliance
  • 3-5 years in commercial construction and/or manufacturing industries
  • Experience administering payroll and benefits.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
