Novel Energy Solutions installs Community Solar Gardens for businesses ranging from family farms to entities with large rooftops or unused land. A CSG is a centralized solar project connected to the energy grid that provides energy to multiple subscribers. We build these CSGs projects using our in-house team of trained and certified crew members. NES is looking for a dedicated, ambitious, and experienced Construction Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate activities pertaining to the construction and maintenance of solar projects in accordance with company policies and governmental regulations. What You'll Do

  • Organize, plan, direct, coordinate, and report all onsite construction activities
  • Lead the construction effort from estimating, management and scheduling 
  • Manage all sub-contractors for timely completion, quality; ensures the project is built according to plans, specifications, schedule, and budget
  • Direct and supervise field personnel with daily schedules, including people, equipment, materials, subcontractors, suppliers, etc. 
  • Manage all construction for a Community Solar Garden site, including crews consisting of: 
    • Journeyperson
    • Equipment Operators
    • Electrical Apprentices
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to fall within industry market pricing and provides competitive customer bids
  • Update daily schedules via Gantt charts and/or Smart Sheets
  • Read, interpret and understand all project documentation such as insurance, permitting, and project scheduling  
  • Document delays/changes; sets up staging areas as needed
  • Maintain and monitor quality and safety standards
  • Reports to the management team all projects progress, new issues, resolutions, and budget and schedule compliance on a consistent basis
  • Act as a troubleshooter on current projects 
  • Assure compliance with Company safety policies and OSHA and/or MSHA safety standards 
  • Seek cost savings through vendor negotiations, market analysis, and eliminating waste
  • Provide daily reports to the Construction Director
  • Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and problem solving

Our Ideal Candidate Has

  • Associates degree or comparable experience in construction technology 
  • Two years minimum of supervisory experience in a related field 
  • Experience working on +1MW Solar Projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience dealing with subcontractors and/or self-perform work
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Bonus Points

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience with Viewpoint by Vista software
  • PMP Certification
  • Proficiency with Gantt charts and Smart Sheets
