24 Sep MnDOT Announces Afton Solar Array Developed by Novel
MnDOT is working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector by 30 percent by 2025. One way we’re doing this is by supporting clean renewable energy by leasing space for community solar gardens.
On Sept. 24, 2020, MnDOT Commissioner Margaret Anderson Kelliher announced the Afton Solar Array pilot project with developer, Novel Energy Solutions. The project guarantees lower electricity costs for MnDOT by providing consistent energy savings from up to 40 percent of all the renewable energy produced on the site.
